cssline
small program/library to convert style sheets from multi-line CSS to single-line, and vice-versa
This tool internally uses recess to parse CSS files, and work on top
of recess.definitions as parsed by the LESS tokenizer.
Synopsis
You can "single-line" a "multi-line" css
$ cat ./path/to/some/file.css | cssline --oneline
And you can "multi-line" a "single-line" css
$ css ./path/to/some/file.css | cssline --multiline
You can also convert directly a remote file, it just needs to have // in
it to be considered as a remote url.
$ css https://example.com/style.css
When run without --oneline or --multiline, then cssline tries to
auto-detect the desired output from streaming css (eg, if the first set
of .selector { ... props ... } appears to be one a single-line, then
the conversion is done to multi-line format for the whole document)
And of course, you can pipe cssline to itself
$ cssline ./style.css | cssline | cssline
API
Programmatically, this look like this
var CSSLine = require('cssline').CSSLine;
fs.createReadStream('./style.css').pipe(new CSSLine(opts)).pipe(process.stdout);
From a remote url
request('http://example.com/style.css').pipe(new CSSLine(opts)).pipe(process.stdout);
Convert to single... then convert back to multi..
request('http://example.com/style.css').pipe(new CSSLine(opts)).pipe(new CSSLine(opts));
